COMBAT Holiday stress
This is a way you can nourish your BODY, MIND and EMOTIONAL well-being throughout the holidays and thereafter when times get too stressful.
Keep your daily morning routine ~ it’s important to keep one routine in your day.
Schedule ahead your workouts ~ it can be 7 minutes, leg lifts, plank, yoga stretch (1 minute for each)
Make the holiday meal a potluck ~ Have others contribute a favorite side dish or appetizer. They feel like they’re a part of the family meal and it’s easier on the hostess
Have a “winter cleaning” session ~ Best feeling to get rid of clothes and things we don’t use anymore
Delegate tasks like dishes + errands ~ This is a connecting time, talking and laughing together, more one to one conversations (so much easier on hostess too!)
Build in solo walking breaks ~ Time to yourself, breathe , take in the quiet
Prioritize healthy fats in the A.M. ~ Start your day with healthy eating habits and you will be more likely to stick to them throughout the day
Make a budget and stick to it ~ Be mindful of spending, you will continue to be stressed after the holidays by paying off your debts
Fill your plate with fibrous veggies ~ More veggies that you enjoy and a little room for richer foods that you can still enjoy
Get natural light indoors + outdoors ~ Feeling the sun on your face can increase endorphins, you can buy a lamp to give you the same effects
Phone a friend to chat or vent ~ Having someone releases stressors , frees your brain from carrying too many toxic thoughts
Journal when you can ~ Journaling first thing in the A.M. gives some clarity for your day and like chatting it also releases stressors
